The above example was a player-issued item belonging to Alajuelense defender Luis Antonio Marín for the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup. As Costa Rica played all of their three World Cup matches in the home kit, the away kit went unused during the tournament.

The above shirt, whilst obtained from Marín himself, is one of the surplus kits.
