2018 - 2019 New England Revolution special football shirt. MATCH WORN - 2 June 2018. Pride Night - 90+5'
NE Revolution (2) v. NY Red Bulls (1)
Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA
Signed w/ COA
#27 Luis Caicedo (defensive midfielder)
On loan from Colombian Categoría Primera B side Corporación Club Deportivo Tuluá (Cortuluá) for the 2018 season with a transfer option for the 2019 season.
This jersey was worn on the field for 90+5’ in the win against NYRB during the 2018 Pride Night match. Caicedo started the match and played all minutes.
These jerseys were then auctioned for charity, with proceeds benefitting “You Can Play” and their mission to ensure safety and inclusion for all who participate in sports, including LGBTQ athletes, coaches, and fans. Sales of the 23 available items raised a total of $6761.00 USD for the charity.
This is the same jersey as the 2018 Home kit, but with the player’s number done in a Rainbow Flag theme. This design was not available for public purchase, except through the charity auction after the match. Multiples were not made, with the possibility of spares for injury replacement (unknown). Essentially making these jerseys unique.
I was at this match and am pleased to have won 2 of these jerseys at auction to add to my collection and to help a worthy cause.
