2019 New England Revolution special football shirt. In observance of Earth Day 2019, MLS in collaboration with Adidas and Parlay, created special jerseys to commemorate the day. Home teams wore a lt. blue jersey, while visiting teams wore a black(ish) jersey. The jerseys are manufactured from material made from processed plastic recovered from the ocean.

For the third consecutive year, all 24 MLS clubs will celebrate the Greener Goals Week Of Service by wearing special Adidas/Parley eco-friendly kits during Earth Day weekend (April 19-21). These innovative Climalite kits are made from technical yarns comprised of Parley Ocean Plastic, plastic waste collected on beaches and in coastal communities and transformed into high-performance sportswear.
The message “For the Oceans” is featured in the inside of the neck tape detailing, and each club’s name is featured on the back neck. This year’s jerseys come in bold “Blue Spirit” [Home] and “Legend Ink” [Away] colors to represent the depth of the oceans.

Edgar spent the majority of his career playing in Mexico. In 2018, he was loaned to the Colorado Rapids. Then, after signing with Colorado at the end of the season, he was almost immediately traded to the Revolution in exchange for Kelyn Rowe. Castillo’s signing filled a glaring hole at the LB position for the Revolution. Finally ending years of “LB by committee “ with a seasoned player. Taking advantage of a new FIFA rule, Castillo is one of only two players to play for both of the national teams in the U.S. v Mexico rivalry.
This jersey was worn on the field for 90+1’ in the win against NYRB during the 2019 Earth Day Weekend match. Caicedo started the match and played all minutes.
After the match, these jerseys were then auctioned for charity, with proceeds benefitting The New England Aquarium, to support their conservation and educational programs. Sales of the 19 available items raised a total of $4118.00 USD for the cause.

On loan from Colombian Categoría Primera B side Corporación Club Deportivo Tuluá (Cortuluá) for the 2018 season. Luis’ transfer option for the 2019 season was exercised at the end of the 2018 season, and is now a full member of the team.
This jersey was worn on the field for 90+1’ in the win against NYRB during the 2019 Earth Day Weekend match. Caicedo started the match and played all minutes.

With the exception of a 3yr stint in Germany, Michael spent the majority of his career in his native England, playing at various divisional levels. His move to MLS came in 2018, during the summer transfer window. The deal, at the time, was a record salary for the league, and a record transfer for a defender in MLS.
