Formed specify to bring another professional soccer team to the New England region, Hartford Athletic also brings professional sports back to Hartford Connecticut after the departure of the NHL\'s Hartford Whalers (now the Carolina Hurricane) in 1997. A newly revitalized Dillon Stadium, in downtown Hartford, is their home.

In remembrance of the Whalers, the Athletic have adopted the old colors that were so important to local sports fans, and have chosen to sport the Green, Blue, and White of the city\'s once beloved team (never the Hurricane). After a 20yr wait, Hartford fans can now proudly display their colors with purpose again.
