Costa Rica Goalkeeper football shirt 2002 - 2003

2002 - 2003 Costa Rica goalkeeper football shirt. Goalkeeper shirt issued alongside the Korea World Cup outfield shirts. The above item was match-prepared for usage in the tournament.

Shirt #23 was given to Herediano goalie Lester Morgan who was an unused sub during Costa Rica's matches, alongside Alajuelense counterpart Álvaro Mesén (who was given shirt #22) as Saprissa's keeper Erick Lonis played on all three group stage matches.

Morgan however had a tragic end to his life on November 2002. Lonis used one of Morgan's spare shirts for a Saprissa match in the following days as homage. The above item is another spare and remains in the custody of a fan.
