We are reliably informed this was a prototype shirt made by Adidas pre 1990, but was never used.
This is a really rare and odd Irish shirt dating back to around 1987 when Adidas took over the kit manufacturing duties for the Ireland football team from O'Neills. They still had the old style logo (which they kept for another few months before they had to change to the circular one) but I never recall Ireland actually playing in this type of shirt - if anyone remembers Ireland playing in it at any level (u18, u21, B international etc.) please let me know!
