Puma-made shirt as worn by the inaugural Shimizu S-Pulse side during promotional matches running up to the first season of the J. League (1993), and in subsequent cup campaigns until 1996, when the league-mandated contract with Mizuno for league shirts ran out and Puma was allowed to supply new kit to the club.

As such, the German brand has worked with S-Pulse since the latter was founded, with the partnership still going strong at the time of writing (26 years later). The 'Map of Asia' design was inspired by sponsors Japan Airlines, and would prove to be instrumental in the later identity of the club, which changed its crest to include a globe and had the map return in many more shirts over the years.
