This is, of course, the infamous 95/96 Man United away kit. As you can see, the sponsor is different. Sharp Viewcam was the sponsor for this away/change kit. Sharp sponsored the home and third kit.

Everything about this shirt looks genuine. The material, the crest, the stitching, the labels.

Here\'s where it gets interesting. The season before this shirt, United had a black away kit. Same sponsor: Sharp Viewcam. But, UEFA rules on shirt sponsor size meant that for their one European game that season, United had to produce an away kit with just Sharp. There was only one game this was used: the 4-0 against Barcelona.

UEFA rules didn\'t change the following season, so it stands to reason that United would have had to have a kit with just Sharp. Meaning there would have been a grey kit with just Sharp, not Sharp Viewcam. The reason we didn\'t see it? United went out in the first round of the UEFA Cup, losing to Rotor Volgograd.

Has anyone ever seen this shirt before?

I can\'t see a fake being this good, but using the wrong sponsor. Nor have I found evidence of an Umbro reissue.
