Home shirt as worn by the Watford squad as the Hornets shook off the relegation blues and bounced back to the Premier League at the first time of asking by finishing second in the league behind champions Norwich City. Kelme, taking over at Vicarage Road from adidas, produced a polarizing design as their first effort for the club, with a sunburst effect applied to the front of the shirt. Fans were quick to draw comparisons to an old Kaizer Chiefs kit, but in doing so glossed over some of the finer details such as the marl effect on the sleeves and a lovely hornet stickered on the back of the neck.

Due to the need for squad numbers to appear on relatively plain backgrounds, the dramatic black stripes of the front are wholly absent from the back. Watford and Kelme partnered to produce only this one version of the shirt, with store-bought tops and those worn by players on the pitch being identical save for an added sponsor on the back in the latter case.
