1998 - 1999 Alajuelense home baju bolasepak. Home shirt as worn during most of the 1998-99 season and also worn on a match of the 1999-2000 season.
Shirt #2 was reclaimed by former defender Javier Delgado when he returned to Alajuelense after a short stint on Santa Bárbara (where he signed after a season on Guatemalan soccer).
NIcknamed "the Sheriff", Delgado wore #2 ever since his Alajuelense debut on September 1990 (causing former owner, fellow defender Óscar Ramírez, to switch to #14 until he departed Alajuelense on 1993) until his retirement on 2003. The number has not been retired and has had no steady owner since.

Another of the home shirt used by Alajuelense during the 1998-99 season. A variant of this shirt that had a black neck rather than a gray one was used later on the season.
Shirt #11 was used by up-and-coming defender Carlos Castro. Castro debuted on the 1997-98 season and would prove to be a tough defender throughout his career, which earned him the moniker of the "Doberman". The number would be associated to him until later on his career, during a second stint with Alajuelense towards his retirement he would switch it to its double (#22), the same one he used when he was called for international duty.
