It was the first red third-choice shirt that Alajuelense used (ever since they regularly started launching third shirts since the mid-2000s) and the first time that Alajuelense played in red since mid-1988.

This particular shirt was used in a handful of matches, and was also used by first-choice goalkeeper Patrick Pemberton in a few matches as well.

Back printing is customized as the regular printing for this shirt was white (no first team player used #40 either).
