1992 - 1993 Alajuelense home baju bolasepak. Home shirt used by Alajuelense when they attempted to obtain an elusive league treble that eventually did not happen--at that time the only league treble ever obtained was between 1958 and 1960.

Alajuelense started the season with Czech gaffer Jan Postulka (who was hired in mid-to-late 1991 ahead of the 1992 season), however he fell out of favor with sports director Ivan Mraz and was sacked after a string of bad results (and some say that some backstabbing also occurred). Mraz took over the team and despite still slumping, managed to reach the semifinals against Cartaginés, however Alajuelense was unceremoniously booted out on penalty kicks after the 120' ended all level.

This also was the last season for Alajuelense mainstays Luis Alberto Quirós, Óscar Ramírez and Paul Mayorga. Quirós fell out of the fans' favor overnight when he missed a vital penalty on regular play on the return leg of the aforementioned semifinal and the decisive one on the shootout; whilst Ramírez left the team due to escalating tensions with Mraz (which started brewing in 1991), causing him to sign with arch-rivals Saprissa ahead of the 1993-94 season as payback. Mayorga in the other hand earned international call-ups due to his excellent 1992 season, however his performance dwindled (also because he nursed an injury) and lost his place on goal to José Alexis Rojas. Mayorga left for Limonense and would return years later for two separate stints as goalkeeper coach. Ramírez would eventually redeem himself to the Alajuelense fandom after returning as coach on 2010 and eventually becoming one of the most successful coaches in Alajuelense history.

It was also the first season that future club legend Wilmer López would play for Alajuelense.
