Alajuelense Extérieur Maillot de foot 1991
Alajuelense Extérieur Maillot de foot 1991

1991 Alajuelense away Maillot de foot. One of the multiple away shirts used by Alajuelense between 1990 and 1991.

Alajuelense signed a sponsorship agreement with Mutual Alajuela on March 1991, which lasted until early 1992; and later had a lengthier run between July 1994 and May 2000. The first agreement replaced the one with Punto Rojo which ended in late 1990 and was not renewed by them, alleging differences between Boards of Directors. As a result, Alajuelense played the first five months of the 1990-91 season without a main sponsor on their shirts (something considered a rarity nowadays).

Shirt #20 was worn by legendary defender Mauricio Montero. During this season Montero did not prominently use #20 as he relinquished it in occasion for largely #12. Montero less frequently used #4 and #3, swapping them with original owners Richard Smith and Fernando Sosa respectively.

The above shirt was only used once in a friendly against Guanacasteca, and was swapped between Montero and an ADG player.
