2019 Alajuelense away Camiseta de Fútbol. Away shirt used by Alajuelense during the first three months of 2019. The shirt is the same as the 2018 shirt, except that it features updated sponsorship: cell phone carrier kölbi replaces rival carrier Claro, whilst cement factory Cementos Fortaleza had its logo updated to one that matches the one that they use on their Mexican sponsorships. Bridgestone is moved to the lower back of the shirt, substituting tuna cannery Tesoro del Mar after their sponsorship agreement ended. The Kelme logo is moved back to the chest, whilst Toyota remains on the shoulder (however it is largely out of frame in the above picture). Sleeve sponsorships remain the same (also out of frame).
However, contrary to the home shirt, the away shirt features the sponsors in full-colour rather than in white (except for Toyota and Kelme), causing backlash among some fans due to the visual unfriendliness of the kölbi and Cementos Fortaleza logos, with the latter being the most controversial due to its size and colour scheme.
Alajuelense becomes a Centenarian club on June 18th, 2019 and is expected to launch a commemorative shirt for the occasion. A regular shirt launch for the 2019-20 period is scheduled for March, whilst the Centenarian shirt is scheduled for June as the anniversary date comes closer. The above shirt comes from spare 2018 unsponsored stock and had all of the sponsor logos ironed on, rather than patching the previous season\'s shirts. As a result the updated shirts are not for sale (the above item comes directly from the kitroom and was awaiting pickup for storage at the club\'s press room when these pictures were taken). Besides the Kelme logo returning to the chest, one key difference between the 2018 and 2019 shirts (home and away) is the sewn-on badge, which replaces the ironed-on badge used last year.
Alajuelense as of writing has not assigned squad numbers beyond #32 (although this may change on the summer transfer window), saving them for youngsters who are called for first team duty to backfill the seniors due to injury or bookings. Shirt #36 does not have a permanent owner, being rotated between Axell Bustos and Esteban Solórzano (with the latter having it assigned as of writing for the away match against Cartaginés played on 27 Feb; both of them have been unused substitutes, though). During the Apertura 2018 shirt #36 was used by trialist Marco Barrantes on the preseason friendlies (Barrantes was not ultimately signed), whilst it was later handed to young forward Keylor Ramírez for his senior team debut as a substitute against Santos de Guápiles on 18 Oct 2018.
