2012 - 2013 Tranmere Rovers home football shirt. This became the last Tranmere home shirt to feature the Wirral Borough Council sponsorship, the Wirral branding had appeared on Tranmere shirts since the 1989-90 season. For two thirds of the season it looked as though Rovers were going to achieve promotion to the Championship after leading League One for most of the season up to the end of January. But from February onwards, results started to go wrong and Tranmere ended the season in mid-table.
