1992 - 1995 Costa Rica home football shirt. One of two home shirts used by La Sele during the ill-fated qualifiers for the United States World Cup. The design was used until 1995 (later issues of the shirt used a different typeface for the numbering).
Costa Rica would dispatch Panama on the qualifiers for the second round (and first group stage) which was contested with Mexico, Honduras and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. La Sele would lose both matches against Honduras (blowing a half-time two-nil lead at San José and losing with a questionable goal at Tegucigalpa); beating Saint Vincent on both matches; and losing one match against Mexico (4-0 at Mexico City) and winning the other one at San José (the last win against Mexico for twenty one more years).
Shirt #4 was given to Saprissa defender Ronald González Brenes, although it was also used by Alajuelense attacking midfielder Richard Smith Hilton on occasion.
