Costa Rica Cup Shirt football shirt 1997

1997 Costa Rica cup shirt football shirt. Rare third shirt issued to La Sele during the Reebok sponsorship. It was only used once during the 1997 Copa América with red shorts (swapping the order of the home kit; also pictured). The shirts were later handed down to the youth teams.

Costa Rica has rarely employed blue and red as a kit combination, first using it on 1940 but as a home getup, and on 2002 on one match against Morocco U23. It could be inferred that, on the latter occasion, it was submitted ahead of the Korea World Cup to actually be used as a third kit. During the current New Balance deal, Costa Rica used navy blue on the third shirt but also used navy blue on the shorts.
