This shirt is from the very beginning of the first of two seasons Brighton played their home games at Gillinghams Priestfield Ground between 1997-1999.
You can tell it is from the beginning of the season as the Sandtex logo is printed onto a white flock panel that has been heat applied to the shirt. This shirt was made available in limited numbers at the very start of the 1997/8 season, hence its rarity.
After the beginning of the season the shirts had the Sandtex logo screen printed in red direct to the shirt.
