Brighton & Hove Albion Retro Replicas football shirt 1974 - 1975

A very 'plain Jane' Albion home shirt design that featured in Peter Taylor's first season in sole charge. It was usually worn with white shorts and socks, both with blue lines as trim, such as in the opening day win against Crystal Palace in August 1974. Kitted with blue shorts, Brighton contrived to lose at home to Leatherhead in the FA Cup later in the season. With the paucity of colour photography at the Goldstone during this season, the colour of the Admiral logo was in doubt until it was confirmed by Phil Shelley, the founder of this site, after conversation with several ex-players at the Alan Mullery Celebration Dinner event in late 2012. Although the logo here is stitched on, photos from the time suggests the yellow and blue Admiral logo was ironed on.
