1987 Alajuelense retro replicas baju bolasepak. Near-exact replica of the shirt used by Alajuelense on the return match for the Interamerican Cup against Argentina's River Plate. The actual shirt was only worn once.

Alajuelense managed to contain River Plate's advances on the first leg (partly because of goalkeeper Alejandro González's skills) and was down by 1-0 by halftime on the second leg; however Alajuelense ended up losing 3-0 because of defensive failures and the Argentinians' superior squad.

Shirt #20 belonged to defender Mauricio Montero who (at the time) was a recent signing, taking the number from forward José Mario Rodríguez.
