2008 - 2010 Alajuelense away baju bolasepak. Away shirt as used between the start of the Invierno 2008 tournament and the end of the Invierno 2009 tournament.
The above example corresponds to what was used as an away kit during the Invierno 2009 tournament. Whilst it is the same shirt as used on the previous two tournaments, it features the ICE sponsor on the upper back rather than the HSBC one (as the sponsorship deal lapsed as previously explained). One can notice that the ICE sponsor was ironed over the HSBC one by looking at the inner part of the shirt.
It was the last time that Alajuelense launched their shirts on par with mostly everyone else in the world, as future shirt launches starting with the 2010 one were switched to the second week of January. Rivals Saprissa followed suit when on 2012 they also decided to launch their shirts right after New Year.

Away shirt from the first PUMA collection released for Alajuelense.
Out of its many uses, it was famously worn on a 0-2 victory against Saprissa on late 2009. That year Alajuelense ended a seven-year streak without a win at Saprissa turf.
Back printing is partially customized--even though no player was issued #88, the printing corresponds to the Invierno 2009 where the numbers were printed in gold instead of the usual black.
The above example corresponds to a retail replica (ie. not a player-issued shirt) used on the Invierno 2008 and Verano 2009. PI items for the Invierno 2009 did not have the HSBC sponsor--as the sponsorship agreement expired, the new ICE sponsor was ironed over the HSBC logo.
Some shirts (of the three kinds) with the ICE logo did make it to the Club Store, however they were very few in comparison to the ones that had the HSBC sponsor.
