2005 - 2006 Alajuelense goalkeeper חולצת כדורגל. One of the goalkeeper shirts issued for the 2005-06 season.

Ricardo González (unrelated to 1980s goalie Alejandro González) was always associated to #23 during his tenure at Alajuelense. Despite moving to first-choice goalkeeper at points, González never took possession of #1, leaving it instead to Alvaro Mesén (after José Alexis Rojas's departure on mid-1997) and Wardy Alfaro (after Mesén's departure).

González arrived to Alajuelense for the 1993-94 season as third-choice goalkeeper (following the release of Paul Mayorga), however he saw next to no action during the season.

González was loaned to San José outfit Sagrada Familia for the 1994-95 season and was recalled to Alajuelense for the 1996-97 season (after Sagrada Familia's relegation, he was loaned to Carmelita).

During his Alajuelense career, González served alongside Rojas, Mesén, Álvaro Fuentes, Anthony Castro, José Cruz, Neighel Drummond, Alfaro and current first-choice goalkeeper Patrick Pemberton.

González left Alajuelense at the end of the 2006-07 season.
