Espanol Futbol Club exited from 1971 to 1982.

in 1971 a group of

rich Spanish, bought the Necaxa Franchise, becuase Necaxa wasnt doing so

good, they changed the colors to black and white and the name.

In

the 1972-1973 season they made it to the semi-final loosing to Club

Leon, 5-4, after playing 2 games and a penalty kick off.

In the

1973-1974 seasons the made it to the final against Cruz Azul, the first

game Atletico Espanol won 2-1, but in the second game against Cruz Azul

they lost 3-0, loosing the title, and becomeing

"Sub-Campeon".

In 1975 they won their first Internacional Title

on the Copa de Campeones CONCACAF, beating Transvaal from Surinam, the

score was 5-1.

By the end of the late 70's and early 80's they

didnt not have much success, and in July of 1982 the derectives of the

team decided to bring back the old Club Necaxa and changed its colors

back to red and white, and changed its name to Club Necaxa, at first

they did not have much success, the fans were already used to Atletico

Espanol.
