2023 - 2024 Alajuelense womens teams Maillot de foot. New Alajuelense (W) home shirt to be used in the Clausura 2023 and Apertura 2024 of the Costa Rican women\'s first tier--contrary to the men\'s, the women\'s season is contested within the calendar year rather than between July-May.

Alajuelense premiered the men\'s and women\'s new home shirts (which share the design and have varying sponsorship arrangements) on Jun. 30th, following confirmation of a new sponsorship agreement with Umbro on this year\'s Día del Liguismo event; with a clothing change being initially hinted earlier on the year. Umbro comes on the heels of a five-and-a-half year stint with Kelme, with the former having signed a three-year contract.

Alajuelense (W) is set to defend the league title for the fourth time in a row on August when the Clausura starts; having won a record fifth league title in a row on early June by edging constant thorn Sporting FC (W) on the Apertura finals--while Sporting won the first match by 4-1, Alajuelense recovered on the return match (opening the floodgates within the first half\'s first ten minutes by taking advantage of a massive botch from Sporting\'s goalie, and netting a second shortly afterwards) and tied the aggregate early on the second half, forcing extra time and eventually completing the comeback on the second extra half; the match ending 4-0 AET.

Alajuelense (W) also faces club legend Shirley Cruz\'s retirement--Cruz returned to Alajuelense in 2022 after a final foray abroad, and decided to call time on her playing career initially after the Australia/New Zealand Women\'s World Cup. However, this was pushed back to the end of the Apertura tournament after it was confirmed that, due to coaching politics within the Costa Rica WNT likely influenced by people upstairs; she was not taken into consideration for the preliminary World Cup list (or for the final squad for that matter).

As with previous shirts, this one is also sold on men\'s sizes. Shirt #29 is unassigned on either sex\'s team and is a customization as a result.
