The first ever all-London Cup Final was a little too easy for Tottenham, having come into the game brimful of confidence - undefeated since January of that year and the young Chelsea side being a bit over-awed by the occasion. Goals from Jimmy Robertson and Frank Saul earned Spurs a 2-1 victory over the Kings Road Blues. After drawing 1 - 1 in the away leg in Anderlecht Spurs were unable to take advantage of playing in front of the huge home crowd and again the match finished 1 - 1, 2-2 on aggregate. Spurs won 4-3 in the penalty shootout, Graham Robers scored the goal in open play and the first penalty to cap a man of the match performance.
