The 98-99 offering from errea, whilst smart and not as 'absract' as their previous shirt, was far too similar to the Pitmen's local rivals, Stafford Rangers, with the introduction of stripes. The Pitmen went on another one of their mini F.A. Cup runs, beating Third Division side Barnet in this shirt, whilst finishing in a mid-table position in the Football Conference
