This shirt was worn during the 2001-02 season. A sad season for Fiorentina and its supporters, not only were the club relegated to Serie B but due to severe financial problems, the club actually folded during the summer of 2002. From the ashes, the club was reformed under the name Florentia Viola and began life in Serie C2B for 2002-03, the equivalent of the Conference North/South leagues in England. Florentia Viola later won back the rights to call themselves Fiorentina and by 2004 were back in Serie A.
