Special shirt worn by Brighton supporters in their annual charity match against Crystal Palace supporters for the Robert Eaton Memorial Fund . Played this season at Lewes FCs ground. It was a 2-2 draw with the Brighton fans winning the penalty shoot out 4-3.
All the teams shirts had the name "Eaton" on the back, and special REMF graphics on the sleeves.
The Robert Eaton Memorial Fund was borne from the terrorist attacks in New York on September 11th 2001, when Robert Eaton an avid Brighton and Hove Albion supporter was working in the Twin Towers, and was one of the 67 Britons who died that terrible day.
The fund came together with a special charity football match in November 2001 when Brighton & Hove Albion FC supporters and Crystal Palace FC supporters put aside fierce rivalry to play in Robert Eatons honour. The fund supports children to play football in the name of Robert Eaton and supports youngsters from 5-16 who may not otherwise be given the opportunity or resources to play.
Each year since the match has been played by Palace and Brighton fans and over £45000 has been raised for REMF
