Republic of Ireland Spezial Fußball-Trikots 1990

1990 Republic of Ireland special Fußball-Trikots. This shirt was worn in a benefit match for a Manchester United player Billy Garton who played around 50 games for United between 1984 and 1990. His career was marred by injury and he retired from the professional game due to ill-health in 1990. United declined him a testimonial, so friends organised a benefit match for him, held at the Salford Rugby League Ground on 28th October 1990. Alex Ferguson and a number of United players were in attendance however.

I don't know what teams took part in that match, but this number 11 shirt was worn by a member of one of them - presumably some sort of Ireland select (as the team badge is the team badge the Irish national team used up to the early 1980s).
